The 383 magnum V-8 engine features an unsilenced air cleaner, a special high-lift, high performance camshaft, windage tray and dual exhausts.  New pistons reduce compression ratio and hydrocarbon emissions. Heated inlet air system. Faster acting choke. Solenoid-operated mechanism retards ignition timing when throttle is closed.
